原定于2017年1月播出，后延期至4月，并在1月放出第1、2话作为先行特番。《碧蓝幻想》是一部手游改编动画。是由日本Cygames开发、Mobage提供的角色扮演游戏。现已经推出漫画、小说、广播剧等多种衍生作品。剧情是抱着梦想的少年与带着谜团的少女相遇，以天空为舞台展开冒险，具备正统RPG游戏中的各种要素。动画的主人公选用了男性主人公格兰，女性主人公姬塔将不会登场。OP主题曲由人气乐队BUMPOFCHICKEN献唱。主角的冒险故事剧情细节丰富饱满，由A-1Pictures倾力打造。对于原作的粉丝或是喜爱冒险主题的观众都是部不容错过的作品。这里是漂浮着许多岛屿的空之世界。在信奉着神秘的岛屿赛克汀瑟上，生活着少年格兰与长着翅膀会说话的蜥蜴碧，某天他们与少女露莉亚相遇了。露莉亚是从这片天空中，靠强大军事力量维护统治的军事国家艾尔斯提帝国中逃出来的。格兰与露莉亚为了从帝国中逃脱，带着写有“我在星之岛伊斯塔鲁西亚等你”的内容，格兰父亲留下的书信，在天空之中展开了壮大的旅途。
