剧情梗概：
民工杨红旗（杨红旗饰）几次三番跑到报社要求登报表扬自己，因为自己在一起强奸未遂案中救了一个姑娘，可是当事人女大学生欧阳花（陈好饰）对这件事却坚决否认，并且声称自己从未见过杨红旗。记者古国歌（王志文饰）在调查中得知杨红旗要求登报表扬是为了完成父亲在临终前的愿望，然而直到其父去世依然没有看到儿子被登报表扬，古国歌受到很大的触动。在警察女友米一（苗圃饰）的帮助下，古国歌很快就找到了事件的真相。真相自然使杨红旗得偿了登报受表扬的心愿，可是却深深的伤害了想维护自己清誉的女大学生欧阳花，与此同时，古国歌也陷入了不知对错的矛盾之中…… 本片在2005年第八届上海国际电影节上荣获评委会大奖以及最佳剧本奖。
