剧情梗概：
为争取一个出国深造的名额，姜妍（宋佳饰）与博士生肖琳（阿斯菇饰）陷入一场不光彩的竞争，在献身导师刘枫（石凉饰）被未婚夫吴征（朱宏嘉饰）发现后，她失手将其杀死，并将尸体埋匿家中。从此，姜妍被一种无法摆脱的梦魇所笼罩。姜妍发现自已怀孕后找导师求解，导师竟让和他关系暧昧的肖琳照顾自己。姜妍不想让肖琳知道自己与导师之间的龌龊事，她感觉肖琳眼睛背后还有一双眼睛，到底是什么她也理不出头绪。姜妍偶然发现，原先导师给她安排的研究对象精神病患者杨大民（刘波饰）的女儿没有死，而杨大民也不是什么精神病，导师究竟要干什么呢......剧情版本二：医学院临床心理系研究生姜妍（宋佳饰演），为作毕业论文伪装成人口普查员去调查患者杨大民（刘波饰演）的精神状况，不料却被对方识破，只能落荒而逃。可随后她却发现，博士生肖琳（阿斯茹饰演）也选择了这个案例，而且患者十分配合。这次的论文关系到去哈佛作非凡助理的事，而肖琳即为导师（石凉饰演）的自得门生又似乎和其有暧昧关系，所以胜算很大。姜妍不服，找到导师，导师闪烁其词，言语间似乎只有些许情色暗示。为了取胜，姜妍不得已做出了大胆决定。两人在办公室发生了关系，却不料此事被姜妍的未婚夫吴征（朱宏嘉饰演）发现，二人爆发争执，扭打间，姜妍失手将其未婚夫杀死。她在惊慌失措中叫来导师与她合伙埋尸，从此她便开始终日在惶惶不安中度过，总感觉吴征的鬼魂就飘荡在她的左右。姜妍发现自己怀孕了，而此时导师竟让肖琳照顾她。她不愿让肖琳知晓，认为肖琳心机颇深，且总感觉对方在试图窥探自己，与导师狼狈为奸，试图害她。到底是怎么回事，姜妍混乱了，她已深陷惧怕之中。在阴错阳差之中姜妍发现患者杨大民的女儿并没有死，且杨大民也并不是一个神经病。那么，为什么导师要给她这个案例？为什么她能如此轻易地发现肖琳和她在做同一个案例？姜妍再次找到导师，却发现这一切根本没有答案，只因这一切从一开始就是一个局！然而姜妍没有退缩，她试图拯救自己。她再次去到患者家，想从这个局的开端找到线索，却发现，一切似乎比她想的更要复杂。
