Yet, although wholly lacking in charisma, Nixon remains a brilliant political operator, seizing the opportunity provided by the backlash against the antiwar movement to take the presidency in 1968. Although he also involved his childhood and early political experience, the focus was on the water gate incident. When a female student in the film asked the president in person: \"Why can't you stop the Vietnamese war as the president? Is it because of this system?\" Nixon seemed to realize it.
