It is up to two scientists and a stray girl they rescue from the ants to destroy them. But the ants have other ideas. Phase IV is an incredible full length feature film by Saul Bass who is most acclaimed as a graphic designer who's work can be seen as the opening credits from The Seven Year Itch, Vertigo, West Side Story to Alien, Broadcast News and Casino. Phase IV is a much overlooked film that is very much in the style of The Andromeda Strain. Saul Bass, American cartoonist, artist, director, May 8, 1920 Born in New York City, he studied painting at Brooklyn College when he was a teenager, and worked as a freelance designer for ten years after graduation. In 1946, he founded Saul Bass Collaborative in Los Angeles. When he was doing art design for some films, he conceived and ingeniously added lively animated characters to the credits at the beginning and end of the title. As a result, the monotonous cast and crew became an integral part of the film harmoniously. This bold innovation enriched the expression of the film and was widely loved by the audience. It was subsequently used by films in many countries. The films that Saul Bass designed the opening and closing credits of are "Carmen Jones" (1955), "The Cardinal" (1963) and other films are most famous.In addition, he has also produced and directed many TV commercials, cartoons and documentaries, such as "A Keen Eye" (1963), "The Fourth Phase" (1974) and so on.
