剧情梗概：
三个怀有身孕的女人再次于斯德哥尔摩的医院产房相遇，带有贵族气息且势利的 Angela、活泼烂漫的 Agda 以及忧郁苦闷的 Adele，她们性格各异来自不同的成长背景，等待分娩的时刻，年少时的回忆涌流而出，关于爱情的难解、婚家价值的道德禁锢、丈夫的压迫，以及女性被社会赋予的宿命，在婚姻与伴侣关系遇上的种种难关，当下与回忆交融并叙，时而穿梭在豪华宅邸的欢快宴席，时而滞留痛苦难耐的待产室里。汇集博格曼的电影班底，改编自当时极具争议的瑞典女性主义作家 Agnes von Krusenstjerna 小说《The Misses von Pahlen》，呈现一次世界大战之前，瑞典女性试图振臂拥抱自由的悲歌。
