The Baseball Player Comes Home is a drama about the sacrifices required in pursuing your dreams. The male protagonist Dustin (played by New Zealand actor Alex Russell) has been a campus baseball star since high school, but has been competing for the professional baseball league for many years without success. Seeing that his sports career was not improving, Dustin simply moved back to his hometown to reorganize his steps, reconnected with relatives and friends in his hometown who had never kept in touch, including his high school girlfriend Rachel (played by Rose McIver), and finally reached the point where... Sting must choose between love and sports career. A struggling minor league baseball player retires and woefully returns to his small hometown, carefully dodging old wounds until confronted with the one that hurts the most - the girl that got away.
