剧情梗概：
聪明机灵的麦文（EpyQuizon饰）和木讷朴实的达都（BayaniAgbayani饰）是在台湾的菲律宾移工。他们远离家乡，为了家乡亲人更好的生活在这个陌生的地方辛勤工作。工作之余，麦文总是向达都描述他最大的愿望，那就是能在宿舍的天台能有一张舒服的沙发，每日下班后能躺在上面看星星，而达都总是一笑置之。一个普通的星期天，菲律宾移工的假期。分别约会失败的麦文和达都无意间在路旁发现了一张被人遗弃的红色沙发。麦文成功说服达都一起将这件承载了梦想了家具搬回宿舍。可是回宿舍的路途并不容易，几次意外，几番争吵，麦文和达都究竟能否成功将沙发搬回宿舍？两人在台湾的打工生活又会发生什么变化呢？本片由日本放送协会（NHK）赞助拍摄。剧情版本二：台北，一个寻常的星期天，两名菲律宾外劳马诺奥和迪爱斯无意中发现了一张沙发；他们开始搬着沙发满街跑，只为把这个象征幸福的沙发搬回工厂宿舍，这个旅程让他们意外体验到台北各阶层的形形色色，也考验了两人的友情、决心和勇气。描绘出台湾多元化的不同面向，以及外籍劳工在台湾对归属的疑问和对家更深的思念。马诺奥与迪爱斯是在台北工作的的菲律宾外劳。年轻单身的马诺奥，一直想追求美丽的菲佣瑟西丽，而在同一工厂上班的好友迪爱斯，个性较沉稳内敛，不时思念着远在家乡的妻小，却又和同在台湾工作的安娜有着难以厘清的情感。这个星期天，两人和往常一样从郊区工厂宿舍搭车到台北的教堂聚会，离开前，警卫还特别提醒他们星期天别玩过头，以免过了门禁时间，将失去继续在台湾工作的机会。没想到这会儿在路边，他们发现了一张被遗弃的红色皮制沙发，光想像舒适地躺靠在上面，就让两人兴奋得不得了，根本忘了还有门禁、追不到的女朋友、看不到的远方亲人等等烦恼，对着沙发，他们开始觉得这个星期天有了新的希望。就这样，马诺奥与迪爱斯，带着被他们赋予梦想的沙发椅，一起穿过大街小巷，展开这段难忘的异乡城市之旅
