剧情梗概：
本片由當代著名文學家徐訏的小說《後門》改編，並獲得第七屆亞洲影展最佳影片獎，李翰祥以細膩沉厚的鏡頭搬上銀幕。李翰祥文藝小品，寫情含蓄，意境雋永，作品如《冬暖》都是經典小品。徐天鶴（王引）與太太（胡蝶）結婚多年，膝下猶虛，對隔壁小女孩阿琳（王愛明）甚有好感。阿琳父母離婚，孤苦伶仃，繼母對她泠淡。徐太太提議收阿琳為繼女，琳父母喜不自勝。後來阿琳親母史小姐（李香君）出現，要接回阿琳；徐太太不忍拆散母女骨肉，毅然將阿琳交回親母。李大導找來一班天皇巨星客串，陣容強大，包括大導演胡金銓及影后樂蒂。天才童星王愛明飾演阿琳一角，賺人熱淚，曾被譽為亞洲最佳童星之一。
