剧情梗概：
由于地球上产生了疾病，人类分成了两种，一种是原始人类，一种是新人类（夜神族）。原始人类生活在小村子里，穿的破破烂烂，生活水平低下，易感染疾病。而新人类生活水平高，吃喝都好，不易感染疾病，但是害怕太阳，受到太阳照射就会燃烧。（恕我想到到了狄仁杰的自燃）原始人类不害怕太阳，可是新人类把持着社会秩序，规定，他们在日出之前必须回到自己的村落。两种人类之间有着明显的等级，没有申请，原始人类不能进入新人类的世界。新人类这么好，原始人都想成为新人类，于是，新人类们设定了一个规则，那就是每年都会从村子里抽一个人成为新人类，过上好日子.故事就是发生在一个这样的原始小村子里，村子里的中二愤青克哉，不满村里和新人类的差距，杀了特派员（其实就是看大门的）。于是，村子受到了经济制裁。十年来，村子一直得不到经济和医疗求援，村子里的人纷纷跑到了外面。、男女主从小青梅竹马（不是一对儿），男主对新人类跃跃欲试，充满好奇。女主因为母亲成了新人类，对新人类并没那么渴望，甚至有几分抵触。十年过去了，新人类终于解除了对村子的封锁，派了新的特派员，大家可以申请成为新人类了。男主帮助守门小哥做了防晒面罩，成为了朋友。令人唏嘘的是一直想要成为新人类的男主并没有成为新人类，而是不想成为的女主最后成为了新人类，虽然冲血的过程有点儿吓人（充满着日式的灰色）。没有被选中的男主悲伤过，愤怒过，但是他最后还是离开了村落，去了远方，开始新的旅程。
