剧情梗概：
不问江湖事多年的老张（关海山饰）开了家临海的PUB，与女儿阿立（王祖贤饰）及伙计阿列（钟镇涛饰）过着简单快乐的生活，阿立与阿列是情侣。某日老张被旧搭档找上门，被迫战战兢兢出山，但事情中途还是突变，被他拉去做司机的阿列成杀人凶手。老张喊阿立同他及阿列一起偷渡时被抓，为救他，阿立答应跟黑社会老大神爷（陈惠敏饰），并哄骗阿列让他先去了菲律宾。6年后，阿列在菲律宾成为名杀手，阿立则一副大姐大做派，身边跟有忠实小弟阿祥（梁朝伟饰）。神爷听闻昔日搭档将在法庭上指证他，派人找来杀手做掉了那人，该杀手正是阿列。而在行动中，阿列无意间与阿立重逢，虽6年里从没忘情阿立，阿列神情仍是冷漠。时间难敌爱意，得知当年事情真相后，阿列再牵亦是时时将他思念的阿立之手。不想重逢一幕被神爷的手下、一直想占阿立便宜的料哥（刘家辉饰）尽收眼底。阿立收拾行装时，心存邪念的料哥冒了出来，但及时出现的阿详打碎了他的黄粱美梦，不过神爷亦因此被惊动。剧情版本二：这是一部颇具技术质感的杀手动作片，谭家明的导演、陈冠中与曾谨昌的编导，杜可风与钟志文的摄影，加上谭家明亲自负责美术，使全片在映象效果上显得相当出色，钟镇涛、梁朝伟与王祖贤的三角关系亦具戏剧冲突性。剧情描述马列在菲律宾当杀手，被聘回港暗杀一名污点证人，巧遇昔日恋人张立。原来在六年前，马列为帮助张立父亲而杀死了一名贪污警察才逃亡菲律宾，并变成职业杀手，原来张立不能随马列成为亡命鸳鸯也是另有苦衷，她父亲被黑帮掳去，只好求神爷出面救人，并因而成为他的情妇。神爷的司机阿祥暗助张立逃出神爷魔掌，与马列一齐逃亡，三人成为患难知已，但最终难逃神爷追杀。
