剧情梗概：
1995年，为应对日益紧张的时局，军方组织大规模军事演习，为此筹建由各支部队抽调人员组成的龙平特遣队，而各部队也不含糊，趁机将平日表现不佳的问题青年们塞入特遣队中。由此，前帮派分子李大维（金城武饰）、屡考屡败的补习生罗志坚（苏有朋饰）、带牌师公曾志祥（林志颖饰）与胖徒弟魏耀南等人有缘相聚，在队长（吴奇隆饰）的调教下开始了艰苦的特遣队员生涯。然而这一班部队精英分子又怎能交出令上峰满意的成绩单？队员们差强人意，特遣队也日渐沦为令各部队嘲笑的啦啦队，知耻后勇的特遣队员们将队长从被撤职的边缘挽回，又在最终的正式军演中因机缘巧合立下了功勋剧情版本二：龙平特遣队队长在演习前半年，奉命组织一支优异的队伍。但队伍当中的士兵，是由各部队最差的士兵组成的。为了对抗队长严厉的领导方式，队员中李大维、曾志祥、罗志坚及魏耀南四人，自动结盟整蛊队长。队长多次被整蛊，甚至手臂脱臼。吴大维后与友连上的队友发生争执，兼且大打出手！结果吴大维被囚在禁闭室。队长却派人送食物给他。后来在模拟大陆进攻台湾的演习中，吴大维、曾志祥、罗志坚和魏耀南四人负责开车，为士兵送水。结果四人阴差阳错的抓了敌军最高指挥官，演习结束。后来四人受到嘉奖。
