剧情梗概：
1998年香港近海，赤柬出身的一伙恐怖分子从北韩雇佣军手中夺走了拥有巨大杀伤力的生化武器。双方激战中赤柬成员多特（吴彦祖饰）受伤失忆，香港警方将其收治。反恐怖组织指挥官马力（周华健饰）接手此案，将多特身上的磁盘文件破解后始得知赤柬头目食客（甘国亮饰）和关艾（何超仪饰）将生化武器夺走后，计划将其射入天空形成剧毒的紫雨，届时香港将变为一座死城。马力与心理专家Shirley（陈冲饰）合作，使失忆的多特认为自己是警方安插在食客身边的卧底。食客威逼警方交出多特，双方激战后食客成功将多特带走，失忆的多特重新得到了食客的信任并试图履行自己卧底的任务，然而渐渐恢复的记忆令多特左右为难剧情版本二：1998年7月，香港新机场启用前十天，赤柬革命部队静静潜入香港情报所得，赤柬头目食客(甘国亮饰)从北韩手上偷走了大量生化毒液，动机不明，但份量足以毒杀整个香港。ATF反恐怖部队总督察马立(周华健饰)茫无头绪，手上只馀十天时间，和一个失忆的赤柬成员多特(吴彦祖饰)。他决定利用多特与食客的非凡关系，在心理学家Shirley(陈冲饰)协助下，为多特洗脑，替他虚构了一个身份：被警方派往食客身边的卧底，任务是揭穿食客的行动目的。特诚惶诚恐地回到食客身边，冒死向马立报讯，马立围捕以食客为首的一帮人，双方爆发激战，食客带领多特且战且退，并受了伤。多特渐渐回复记忆，记起了自己与食客和观艾(何超仪饰)的感情，也泛起无数血腥的回忆，然而，他再没有了从前的暴戾和狂热，重新做回平凡人的愿望却愈来愈强烈。行动日子逐渐逼近，面对生化武器与人命，情与义，多特面临有生以来最严竣的考验
