剧情梗概：
外星巨兽屁屁怪突然袭击地球大肆破坏，全球进入一级戒备，手足无措的军方决定向全球征集优秀的机器人设计，来对抗屁屁怪。梦想当发明家的麦兜（张正中配音），也带着他设计的电饭宝去参赛，机缘巧合下，竟然侥幸当选。于是地球的希望，一下子都落在了麦兜身上！麦兜又能否成为英雄，拯救地球？外星怪兽降落地球，大肆破坏。全球进入一级戒备，科学家们开始研制机械人来对抗，于是公开征求机械人设计。麦兜喜欢设计傻呼呼的小发明，他带着电饭宝这个设计去参赛，结果侥幸当选，地球的希望，一下子都落在麦兜身上。他以电饭宝为基础，制造出超级机械人大饭宝。大饭宝变身各种家电，让怪兽又惊讶、又爱用，最后地球胜利了。麦兜成了全球小英雄，从此跟妈妈，还有电饭宝，一起过着幸福快乐的生活。
