《境界线上的地平线》是由著名导演内详导演的于2011年日本地区上映的一部类型的动画片,由武藏主演,该片主要讲述了曾获电击小说大赏金赏;的轻小说家川上稔，自从他那破记录地厚的「终焉的年代记」完结之后，于2008年再度开始撰写，以科幻笔触营造出中世纪神州‧日本;这个同样超庞大的独特世界舞台的少年少女冒险事「境界线上的地平线」，将于今年10月由知名的动画制作社SUNRISE负责改编为TV动画！　　对已创作了不少著名动画如高达系列及「CodeGeass」的SUNRISE来说，今次能够由他们来处理「境界线上的地平线」那详尽复杂的世界设定及复杂的人物关系，确实使我们动画迷感到十分放心。「境界线上的地平线」的故事设定在遥远的未来，在再一次重来的世界里，因复杂的原因使人们除了神州‧日本以外的地方均无法生存及到达。为了能够重返天上，人们决定重现前地球时代的历史书「圣谱」记载的历史，希望能够基于再现过去人们的历史而能再次回到天上。可是来到中世纪之时，因为「圣谱」上的装置发生了问题，使「圣谱」不再更新往后的历史，对于为了对付过于严酷的环境而获得力量的各国，各自朝神州侵攻及占领了。但因为由他国完全支配神州并没有曾经发生在历史上，因此武力与政治的支配被神州拒绝，各国反而把作为教导组织的学校教导院;进行政治军事替换，暂定支配了各地。作为由八艘在空中飘浮的船舰所组成的武藏Ariadust教导院，当极其无能的男主角兼武藏Ariadust学院的总长兼学生会长葵・托利，遇上了自动人形的女主角P-01s后，新的历史与新的世界冒险便由此展开。
