剧情梗概：
《怪物之子》的世界里，在人类世界之外还有一个怪物生活的世界。而两者之间的交界处则是人间界的涉谷所在以及在怪物界名为涉天街的地方。故事讲述了某一日，孤身一人的少年误入怪物世界的少年遇到了同样孤身一人的怪物，两者相遇后开展的超出想象的冒险故事。少年成为了名为熊彻的怪物的弟子，同时获得了九太这个名字。也因此有网友笑言，应该给本片命名为熊孩子。幕后花絮1.在采访中，细田守坦言影片创作契机是《狼之子雨与雪》公映后，他的儿子出生那段时间。他设想一个孩子由许多本没有关联的人共同养大，在这过程中忘掉了父亲的存在。2.役所广司的声音从试听阶段就得到导演认可，导演还吐槽，说在录音过程中，役所的声音不断熊化，最后甚至和熊彻融为一体，出色演绎了熊彻粗鲁、笨拙和天真的一面，他称役所也许是熊投胎来的。3.为九太配音的宫崎葵和染谷将太均是第二次和细田导演合作。葵在《狼之子》中为雪和雨的母亲配音，染谷则在同一作品中为小学老师配音，细田导演称染谷的声音很好，但可惜前作没有合适的角色。4.宫崎葵坦言九太边吃饭边说话的场景让她最为挠头，为了模拟含糊不清的口音，她用手指压住舌头说话。此外在和染谷交接前的几场戏，她有意识地用大孩子的声音说话，交接时还对染谷说请多关照。5.细田守是津川雅彦的粉丝，所以宗师的人选他不做其他选择。6.兽人多多良和百秋坊分别请到大泉洋和LilyFranky担任声优，两位演员和动画形象十分相似。细田守称创作角色在先，但看到角色后脑海中马上浮现了大泉和Lily的形象，于是延请二人加盟剧组。7.影片结尾有一场九太和多多良、百秋坊三人的戏，但原定的后期是分头录制。大泉洋怂恿导演应该三人一同录制，于是原本已经完成拍摄并且正陪着太太逛超市的染谷小弟就被乖乖叫回来了。影片评论：全剧大概最戳我的地方，就是熊彻拖着受伤的身躯说，我来解决，我来。无论孩子做了什么，父亲都不会抛下他，他来承担，一个像孩子一样的人逐渐成为人父，就源于朝夕相处油然而生的疼爱。欣赏它面对私欲的成熟态度，并不全盘抵制，而是学习克制。内心的暗黑，每个人都有，因为每个人都有＃心＃啊，能把握尺度的私欲，其实很是傲娇儿。其实它主要还是在讲强大，强大是真正的温柔而坚定，而非瞪圆眼睛去吓小朋友；强大，是由心而发，是心中有刃剑，是甘与归心平静，避离名争利夺。一直到结尾我都处于一种被节奏拐跑不知所云的境界。剧情明显分为三段：从认认弟子到久太接受怪物世界的生活再到熊彻赢得宗师称号再到久太打败被黑暗吞噬的一郎彦。第一部分的剧情明显有些老套，我觉得应该是因为时间跨度太大的问题，所以人物心理和关系的发展都没有太细腻（比如莲匆匆忙忙地起身追赶熊彻这一个细节我就觉得没有变化过程）。第二部分开始有惊喜，一个是枫的出现，一个是父亲的出现。先是枫，她是为久太连接怪物世界与人类世界的纽带，没有她就不会有之后的矛盾重重。我原以为这又是一个鼓励男主角的烂俗爱情梗（没错我就是这么耿直受不了所有剧都特么非得要爱情元素），还好教会九太成长的她还没来得及说出爱意。现实中大家所生活的世界也好还是因为大家内心主观思虑的世界也好，都是极其复杂的，成长是混乱矛盾的，这样就是第三点关于自己追寻意义才是强大。着就是每个人在做的，成长或人生就是在自我构建，这构建是完整的，只是我们自己充满矛盾并不知情，这个构建是不完美的，绝对的不完美。甚至可以从各个哲学层面和不同流来说都是这样。
