剧情梗概：
锣鼓喧天，鼓乐齐鸣，正是姜家嫁女儿的喜庆日子，刀光剑影和飞溅的鲜血将大喜之日变作新娘兰娟（吴倩莲饰）永生难忘的惨痛记忆。在那场惨绝人寰的劫难中，兰娟所有的亲人皆被杀害，骨肉至痛让她无法放下复仇的念头。而经过漫长的等待和查找，兰娟终于知晓杀害了她全家的幕后凶手的真身，就是雄霸一方的熊金标（黄中秋饰）。娇弱女子手无缚鸡之力，她辗转找到了在江湖上令人闻风丧胆的杀手李青阳（尤勇饰）。最初李青阳拒绝这单生意，却最终为兰娟的孝心和坚忍意志所感动。二人假扮夫妻接近熊家，小心经营，如履薄冰，苦苦等待复仇的良机。直到那年正月，等待许久的决断时刻终于来到剧情版本二：姜家上下在忙着女儿兰娟出嫁的喜事时，仇家派杀手来砍杀他们全家，只有新娘子侥幸逃脱。九年后，兰娟命赵春玉查出幕後主使杀人的是一方之霸熊金镖，遂请名震江湖的杀手李青阳去刺杀熊，但遭拒绝。兰娟在失望之余只好自行前往报仇，在危难之际李却出手救她，并自言不收分文帮她对付熊。全片格局类似港台传统的武侠片，但在处理上却别具北方风味。
