《冰冷的阵雨》的故事讲述十七岁的主角米克（Mickael）在三个月内的成长和转变，他在学校、家庭和感情的种种问题当中的学习和成长。　　米克的家境虽然不富裕，而且在家里常得面对酗酒的父亲和节俭成癖的母亲之间的纠纷，但他得以把精神和感情寄托在他热衷的柔道和他热恋著的女友温内莎（Vanessa）身上，生活还算挺顺利的。三个月前，他与女友温内莎的感情还算「融洽」(两人常在校园的运动场所内偷欢)；在学校里，他忙著准备中学结业考试，同时也必须身负柔道队队长的职责，准备参加比赛。　　有一日，米克被要求与柔道队的新赞助人的儿子克莱门（Clement）一同训练，他虽然不是十分情愿，但还是无奈地接受了。很意外地，克莱门并非一个气焰嚣张，娇生惯养的富家子，反而是个很容易相处的人，连同温内莎，他们三人很快地混在一块。一次肌肤相亲的角力游戏，促使三人忘情地探讨彼此的身躯，发生了出轨的行为。那次出轨的体验并没有让米克和克莱门的关系变得更密切，它反而触发了米克对克莱门的妒忌心，更严重地损坏了米克和温内莎的感情，温内莎在他心中的地位从圣女降为荡妇。妒忌心使他变得愤怒，愤怒使他转成粗暴；感情的困境，父母亲日况益下的关系，学业成绩的下泄，这种种的转变像冷水般狠狠地泼洒下来，而米克能做就只有一一面对它们，为成长迈出第一步。
