大清康熙四十九年十一月十一日，康熙率太子与和硕雍亲王在木兰围场狩猎，雍亲王偶遇李佳氏，后李佳氏在木兰围场生下雍亲王四子弘历。康熙五十九年，康熙在狩猎中遇险，增得少年弘历相救脱险，弘历巧对对联，获得康熙欢心。　　弘历继位后改元乾隆，乾隆在位时设立了四库全书馆，编篡了四库全书。四库全书的总编纪晓岚在书房因天热未着衣工作遇乾隆驾临，只好躲在桌下，但仍被乾隆叫出来，幸好机智妙解“老头子”，乾隆准其不着衣工作。　　刘庸晋见乾隆，争得“罗锅”封号，一年可多两万两俸禄，乾隆心有不愿，暗中命人出题刁难，被刘庸一一化解。最后乾隆让刘庸跳冰窟，刘庸领命后站在冰窟旁许久，后晋见乾隆，说是遇见屈原，让问问乾隆是否是逼死大臣的昏君，乾隆无奈只好放过他。　　乾隆十六年，乾隆奉皇太后南巡到扬州，为体察民情，乾隆假扮商人撇下侍卫一人微服出访。在扬州最著名喝荤茶的一乐园茶楼，乾隆遇到只卖水..
