剧情梗概：
王兆兴从小一起长大的师妹在上次任务中牺牲，令王兆兴萌生去意，在京城中欲向车千户辞职，车千户令其站好最后一斑岗，押送一名投诚叛将到兵部。一桩看似简单的任务但危机四伏，在紧要关头谷平安等人赶来相助，终于完成了“终极任务”，而王兆兴的命运又如何呢？大明朝锦衣卫飞鱼营校尉王兆兴的师妹晶晶在执行任务时牺牲。晶晶临死之前，奉劝王兆兴离开飞鱼营，原因是飞鱼营内部有问题。师妹没说完飞鱼营组织内部到底出了什么问题就咽了气，留给王兆兴无尽的痛苦和疑惑。带着师妹留下的疑惑和对平安镖局副总镖头谷平安的承诺，王兆兴启程赶赴京城，求见义父车千户大人。飞鱼营是大明朝皇家卫队中最秘密、也是最值得托付的精英组织，内部有着严明的纪律和组织结构，擅自离开飞鱼营者将受到军法的处置。尽管如此，王兆兴仍然历数自己进入飞鱼营以来的建树和苦衷，最终征得义父的同意，但前提是要完成义父交代的最后一项任务，于天黑之前押送番军一名投降将军至兵部受审。
