剧情梗概：
《FrameArmsGirl》是寿屋原创的机娘模型系列，由军武娘之父岛田文金人设原案，岛田文金是《天翔少女》、《强袭魔女》系列、《少女与战车》等军武娘系列的原案画师，早期对机娘有过初始的人设，后与机械设计柳濑敬之、模型公司寿屋合作推出原创机娘PCV模型企划，也就是《FrameArmsGirl》。这项企划与Konami的《武装神姬》相似，却在设计概念以及素体制作等方面完全不同。2015年正式推出第一款角色模型轰雷，至今系列发售超过50万体，在动画化之前就已经有众多的模型爱好者关注这一企划。而此次的动画则以一个女孩子刚刚接触并学习机娘模型组装为主要内容，喜欢模型和拼装的爱好者也许可以找到共鸣。某日早晨，普通的女子高校生?源内青收到一个神秘包裹。打开后发现里面放了名为FRAMEARMSGIRL的完全自律型小型机器人『轰雷』。是玩具!还是塑胶拼装模型!但是轰雷不仅仅是FRAMEARMSGIRL。而是搭载了在通常的人工智能以上，拥有高度人格的人工自我AS（ArtificialSelf）的最新型试作机。
