剧情梗概：
尼古拉斯·凯文曾经是一位为政府工作的密探，一次在执行任务时，眼看同是密探的女朋友死去却无法挽救，而被迫离开政府，成为一名出色的私人保镖。　　他的一位委托人，伊莉沙白是一位电脑程序开发商，她的公司研制出一种全新的计算机系统，被政府官员布克那看好，要用这种系统记录下每个公民的大脑程序，监控他们的思维活动，以发现是否有犯罪倾向，是否是政治偏激者，等等，并且已经在研制之中，被叫做大脑智能。伊莉沙白认为布克那这种行为是有失人道的，所以拒绝了他，没想到却让她自己惹上了杀身之祸。伊莉沙白在死之前早以启动了摧毁大脑智能的程序，而且远程控制已交给了尼古拉斯，所以布克那用尽一切办法要找到尼古拉斯……他们派去了一个女密探卡亚接近他，令人震惊的是卡亚的大脑里装着尼古拉斯的大脑数据，这意味着尼古拉斯的每一个想法、每一个动作都逃脱不了她的掌握……　　就这样尼古拉斯成为了一个维护公民利益的战士，冒着生命危险与布克那一帮人进行周旋，在此过程之中，有非同寻常的爱情，也有既好笑又感人的友情，剧情跌宕起伏，武打效果引人入胜，绝对是值得一看的动作片。
