剧情梗概：
看完通宵电影，从电影院回到工地门口，喜良被工头叫到了医院。垂危的工友刘根用虚弱的声音托付喜良，希望喜良能把自己的骨灰和儿子小宝送回老家。看着曾经朝夕相处、同甘共苦的刘根，喜良没加思索地答应下来。刘根咽气后，送刘根的骨灰和儿子回老家，成了喜良心中一个必须实现的诺言。　　刘根有个六岁的儿子小宝。三年前，媳妇朱美丽扔下刘根和儿子，跟另外一个男人跑了后，无力照顾儿子的刘根将小宝托付给了一个老乡。抱着刘根的骨灰、领着小宝，喜良准备动身，但工头只给喜良五天时间，如果五天之内喜良不能回来，那么属于喜良的那份工作将被别人顶替。在喜良认为五天一个来回应该是不成问题的事，却因为刘根老家的变故单喜良只能再把小宝领回工地，一切的一切都开始变得麻烦起来......
