剧情梗概：千机大轰炸是一部战争,冒险片，1942年2月，哈里斯接任英国轰炸机指挥部司令官。他主张对大城市进行彻底的集中轰炸，以挫败敌国的士气和民心。与此同时，英国研制出先进的电子设备，用以提高轰炸精度。                                                                    　　同年3月份以后，英国开始由以往对不同目标轮番轰炸改变为短时间内集中轰炸。5月30日夜，英国空军对德国科隆市实施了千机大轰炸，从而揭开了对德国本土大规模轰炸的序幕。                                                                    　　为了组织这次轰炸，英国除动用了一线空军部队和防御指挥部的全部轰炸机外，还从训练部队中抽调了300余架轰炸机，参战飞机数量达到了1046架。这次空袭历时90分钟，投弹1455吨。科隆240余公顷地区遭到破坏，中心区的一半建筑夷为平地，致使486人死亡，5027人受伤，14万人无家可归，破坏效果明显。                                                                    　　英军为了迷惑敌军，对附近机场和其他目标进行了佯攻。空袭中，英军共损失飞机40架。A U.S. Air Force colonel convinces the Allies during World War II that a daylight bombing raid of Germany will bring a quick end to the war.
